Feeding your pets the best food possible is the key to keeping them strong and happy. Dogs especially need special nutrients and vitamins to keep their hearts and bodies strong and healthy. Very few people know that feeding whole grains to their dogs can really benefit their long term health. There are also a number of benefits to feeding your dogs certain dairy products. Sometimes human food is simply forbidden to dogs while others can really lengthening their lives and keeping them healthy and strong. Along with plenty of exercise this is a great way to protect your pet and repay him/her for all of the love that he/she gives you daily.

There are some things that dogs do and are allowed to do. While there are some human foods that dogs simply cannot eat due to them being toxic to your pet, there are some foods that are very good for your dog. Some fruits have the potential to be very nutritional to your pet. If you have ever been snacking on strawberries and your dog comes up to beg for one and wonder, can dogs eat strawberries? The answer is yes they can, they are actually very good for your dog. They provide a lot of vitamins such as C, B1 and B6.

Vitamin B1 can has the ability to convert your pet’s glucose levels into energy keeping your dog happy and healthy. Vitamin C has the ability to keep your dog’s immune system healthy, just as it does for humans. Potassium is found in strawberries and potassium promotes a healthy heart in dogs. Some fruits your dog can eat and some they can. Never let your dog eat grapes, but blueberries and strawberries are both okay in moderate portions.  Never let them overeat any fruit. Too much human food is not always the healthiest solution for your pet.

One food that is healthy for people is also healthy for dogs and that is oatmeal. Oatmeal has a number of benefits for your loving pet. Oatmeal is packed with fiber which will keep your dog’s tummy functions healthy and under control while also keeping their cholesterol levels low. Feeding your dog whole grains can reduces your pet’s chance of becoming obese, developing diabetes or kidney disease, and even heart disease. They will also keep your dog’s immune system working properly so that can easily fight off any illnesses that may come their way.

The best possible thing you can do for your dog is give him lots of love and keep him filled with nutritious foods. Before you feed your dog anything unusual make sure that you talk to your veterinarian to make sure it is safe.
